Year 13 Presentation Evening

Thursday 10th September 2015

Our departing Year 13 students, their parents and up to two guests are invited to this important event in the school calendar, at which we will be presenting subject, achievement and other special awards. We hope very much that you will be able to attend to celebrate the many Sixth Form successes and to meet with friends and staff socially.

Award recipients will be notified individually closer to the event. Please email Mrs Bertram at Bertramj05@kingslangley.herts.sch.uk or 6form@kingslangley.herts.sch.uk no later than Friday 17th July, to confirm that you are able to attend and the number of guests you will be bringing.

Thank you

Dear Students and Parents,

 Last few spaces remaining

The Making it into Medicine Course is happening this weekend on the 18th July from 12:00-17.00pm. at the University of Hertfordshire, but there is still time to register.  Please also remember that there are funded spaces allocated for students who are from low-income backgrounds or receiving free school meals.

This is an invaluable opportunity for students to learn about all aspects of the medical application, from doctors who have successfully been through the process.  It is also open to students from years 10-12. Parents and teachers are also welcome to attend.

'Making it into Medicine' has been designed to encourage students who are contemplating a career in medicine, to provide advice on applications to medical school and will cover a range of useful topics such as personal statements, organising work experience, interviews and CV building.

The course will be delivered by Dr Sivayoganathan and Dr Kennedy, who are excellent speakers with outstanding CVs and a wealth of experience including sitting on interview panels.

For more details about the course and to book please visit www.medicmentor.org   Student registration is £45.00, but for parents and teachers registration is £25.  Students will receive a free course workbook and CV pack.  Many students and parents have found this course extremely useful in the past and you can view their video feedback here: http://www.medicmentor.org/making-it-into-medicine-course.html

If you have any further questions, please email me at Samantha.heybridge@outlook.com

Best of luck!

University Open Days (July)
Open days are a vital part of the process of applying to university. Thousands of students do not take the opportunity to visit any universities when applying through UCAS.
Open Days are important, so we've provided you with a variety of upcoming open days for students in July.  We hope students find the opportunity to attend at least two university open days before making their final decision.
